The 3 Win Framework
A phrase coined by popular social media influencer Jun Yuh(@jun_yuh on Instagram), who has built his audience off of his academic success not only at school but into biomed engineering at university, making the Dean’s list at his respective university while also running a business full-time.
He uses a simple frame-work consisting of three “wins” that a person should have each day:
A mental win
A physical win
A spiritual win
The next few section will break down what each of these mean.
A Mental Win
According to Jun a mental win simply means to learn something new. For instance in context to accounting this could be learning one new inventory measurement formula(i.e.. FIFO, Weighted Average or Specific Identification).
A Physical Win
The physical win comprises simply “moving your body, basically just encouraging some form of exercise no matter if its a simple 45 minute run/walk or a full hour weightlifting session.
A Spiritual Win
"Spirituality is not adopting more beliefs and assumptions but uncovering the best in you."
Jun defines this as “uncovering something about yourself”. Whether religious or not spirituality is something that can truly alter your outlook on your studies, often helping you detach studies and emotion from each other allowing you to tackle your studies in a composed manner.
Follow these three wins and you’ll feel a sense of all round completion that actually fuels you rather than drains you, while simultaneously getting you the results you want
Current Affairs
South African And US Elections
The combination of both a local election as well as an election dictating the US is an interesting combination which will have a large effect on our economy in South Africa as well as an impact on the economy of the world.
As South Africa braces itself for the elections which could have historic outcomes considering that the ANC faces the prospect of falling below the 50% threshold, signalling a shift towards coalition politics, introducing a new era of uncertainty. Coupled with the volatility compounded by changing political landscapes in the US, widely considered the business capital of the world, Accountants and business leaders are urged to have increased focus on:
Market Volatility Management: Proactive monitoring of market dynamics and implementation of strategies to manage volatility are crucial amidst the uncertain political landscape.
Debt Management: Prudent debt management strategies are recommended, with a focus on restructuring or refinancing to mitigate financial risks amidst rising debt levels.
Government Policy Analysis: Stay informed about government fiscal policies and their implications, adapting business strategies accordingly to navigate changing regulatory landscapes.
Book Suggestion
The Power Of Habit - Charles Duhigg
"The Power of Habit" by Charles Duhigg explores the science behind habits and how they shape our lives, organizations, and societies. The book delves into the neurological mechanisms of habit formation, explaining the cue-routine-reward loop that governs habitual behaviours. Duhigg illustrates how understanding and manipulating this loop can lead to positive changes in personal and professional life.
Duhigg also explores the concept of "keystone habits," which are small changes that have a disproportionate impact on other areas of life. He emphasizes the importance of identifying and cultivating keystone habits to catalyse positive transformation. Sounds a lot like our 3 wins that we spoke about earlier right…
